Buddy Poppies benefit needy veteransMembers of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5896 and its Ladies Auxiliary will be distributing Buddy Poppies for Memorial Day weekend in front of Farmington Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Country Mart, Family Center, Value City and JC Penney’s from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 22, 23 and 24.

Kids Helping KidsKids helping kids — it’s been happening all around Farmington. The students in Debbie Oliver’s first grade classroom at Roosevelt Elementary were over the rainbow in raising money during the school’s “Pennies for Patients” fund drive. And at the Kids R Kids child care, the children rode their bicycles and tricycles to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in a trike-a-thon. The youngsters rode as a tribute to a child of one of their teachers. Let the Farmington Press know when kids are helping others.
