Two Bonne Terre women received minor injuries and a Bonne Terre teenager received moderate injuries Friday when their vehicles collided.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Jewel L. Pyeatt, 33, and her passenger, Jacqueline K. Pyeatt, 15, were westbound on Route K at 11:20 a.m. when the accident occurred, east of Saffel Road in St. Francois County.

The 2002 Jeep Liberty slid on the ice- and snow-covered roadway and slid into the path of an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Carol S. Watkins, 50.

All three were taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. The report did not list seat belt information for passengers.

Damage to the Liberty was listed as total and damage to the Trailblazer was listed as extensive. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

PEOPLE!!!! Just because you have a 4x4 does not mean you should run the speed limit or faster "just because you are in a 4x4".. Remember people, you still have to be able to STOP!!!! Most icy condition accidents involve 4x4's driven by arrogant people. Ihave a 4x4 but I DO NOT act recklessly!! SLOW DOWN!!!
